Vince McMahon has made some strong claims regarding Hulk Hogan’s personality following the WWE Hall of Famer’s death.

Hogan passed away at the age of 71 in July, having suffered cardiac arrest. The wrestling icon, whose real name was Terry Bolea, was the biggest thing in sports entertainment during his heyday and remained one of the most popular figures until his passing.

Of note, he was also the subject of multiple scandals, the most damning coming in the form of leaked audio bearing racial slurs in 2015. Hogan was heard criticizing his daughter Brooke’s decision to date a black man on a phone call he had several years prior.

“I am a racist, to a point, f***ing n****s,” he was heard saying.

WWE booted Hogan shortly after, but brought him back a few years later.

McMahon, who is now fighting some serious allegations that have forced him to relinquish his hold on WWE, recently told TMZ he brought The Hulkster back because he knew he wasn’t a racist, although he made a big mistake.

“I knew he wasn’t a racist, I’d been with him for so many years,” he explained.

“He wasn’t a racist,” the former WWE boss claimed. “He said some racist things, and he should pay for that, and he did. But in the end, I think that everyone saw the real Hulk Hogan, Terry Bollea and they felt: “Wait a minute.

“This guy, he doesn’t act like a racist, he’s not a racist.”

Hogan apologized for his comments before his WWE return, labeling them “offensive” and “unacceptable.” In an interview on ‘Good Morning America’, he pleaded for forgiveness, crying and insisting he was “a nice guy.”

“We all make mistakes. That was a big one, but he wasn’t a racist,” McMahon added in his chat with TMZ.

The 79-year-old vacated his position as CEO of WWE three years ago and later resigned as executive chairman of parent company TKO Holdings following allegations of sexual misconduct and sex trafficking in a lawsuit.

McMahon has denied the allegations; the matter is pending.
