Open-mic nights often call for earplugs, but the patrons of the Ole Red bar in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, got a pleasant surprise this past Friday. Gwen Stefani’s, 53, eldest son, Kingston Rossdale, showed up and sang a song for the crowd (sounding like quite the crooner at only 17 years old).

Ole Red just so happens to be a chain of bar and grilles owned by Stefani’s husband, Blake Shelton, 47. So, it’s fair to say that Kingston’s choice of venue was no happy accident. You can watch a clip of the 17-year-old’s performance in the TikTok below.

“You’re in a great spot. Great spot,” Kingston says at the beginning of the video. He then proceeds to give an impressive performance, hitting some gorgeous notes that cause the crowd to cheer in excitement.

When he finishes the song, Kingston says, “Love you guys, thank you for being here! Thank you, it means everything to me, really. I hope you guys had a great night, enjoy the show!”

He then proceeds to hug Shelton, who is standing at the back of the stage. The country singer, who had performed his own short set that night, teased Kingston’s appearance in an Instagram post days earlier.

“Ok y’all here’s the deal,” the former Voice coach wrote in a post on his social media last week. “7:30pm this Friday I’m gonna set up and play 30 minutes or so acoustically. Then I’m gonna turn the stage over to a debut artist that will be doing their VERY FIRST public performance! See you at the @OleRed Tishomingo Doghouse!!!! You never know who else may show up….”

Turns out Kingston was that debut artist, and he made quite the splash. The 17-year-old is one of three children that Stefani shares with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, along with Zuma, 14, and Apollo, 9.

Stefani and Rossdale split in 2016 and the “Hollaback Girl” singer married Shelton in 2021. Since their nuptials, Shelton has totally embraced his role as a stepfather, telling Country Countdown USA host Lon Helton in March 2022: “Every day I’ve fallen in love with the boys as much as I do with Gwen.”

The musical talent in this family is seemingly endless.
