Serena Williams’ husband seeks to impose new rules on his daughters Olympia and Adira

Former tennis star Serena Williams’ partner reveals strict ban on childrearing

Alexis Ohanian, husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, shared his thoughts on parenting. Specifically, he hinted at what restrictions he would impose on his two daughters, Olympia and Adira. He’s spoken about dumb phones on several occasions, but this time it was a little different.

It’s worth noting that in 2018, during an interview with CNBC, Ohanian discussed his biggest fear when raising his two daughters, Olympia and Adira. He said, “You quickly see how quickly these kids gravitate toward devices. It’s amazing to see, but it’s also a little scary.” They want their children to be bored and have limits on their technology use.

In an Instagram reel, Alexis Ohanian highlighted a fan’s question asking him for advice on how parents should approach social media use with their children. He responded by saying, “There’s no one way to parent. But since you asked how I do it, the answer is very simple: no social media,” he stated.

However, the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s couple said he’s not surprised that many governments are taking steps to ban social media use for preteens and teens. If everyone agrees not to use social media, that social pressure doesn’t create, and “they end up having much healthier relationships.”

Why did Serena Williams retire from tennis?

But after a historic career that transformed and transcended her sport, Williams left tennis in 2022 to focus on having a second child and having her firstborn, Olympia, become a big sister. Her explanation in a lengthy article for Vogue resonated among female athletes, where she spoke about the idea that “no, you can’t have it all, at least not all at once.”

In singles, Serena Williams closed the count with 73 titles: her first in Paris in 1999 and her last in Auckland in 2020. Throughout her successful years in high performance, she won 23 majors: the Australian Open seven times, Roland Garros three times, Wimbledon seven times, and the US Open six times.
